New Mexico Mule Deer Hunts
The NM Mule Deer hunts are conducted from either our High 7 Ranch house, a high country cabin or tent camps depending on the unit we are hunting in. This hunt will require you to be able to hunt by foot in rough wilderness terrain. On a typical hunt, you will ride ATV's to where we will put on a daypack and hike several miles into muley country. We will then spend lots of time glassing until a big buck is spotted. Once you kill your buck, we will cape the head and pack meat back to camp. Success has been 100% on this hunt. A lot of the shots will be very long range because of the wide, rough canyons. My son Walker is a custom long range gun builder and you are welcome to use one of these rifles that are built especially for this country. If you are looking for a true muley hunt that involves hiking and hunting in rugged, rough country, this is it! You can also combine a black bear hunt at the same time.
Mule Deer Rates & Season
We offer three hunt dates to choose from. Please go to our Rates page for exact dates, but generally it will be from the last week of October through the first two weeks in November. The early hunt is a muzzleloader hunt and the last two are rifle hunts.
Booking A Mule Deer Hunt
As deer tags are obtained through the draw, your odds of drawing are extremely high through the outfitter draw pool. In previous years, we have been 100% successful with all of our hunters drawing a tag. You will need to contact us for application instructions. The deadline to apply is towards the end of March each year. Also, more than one person can apply together on this hunt so if one of the party draws both will get a tag.
